This photo was taken in a fascinating store in Old , (RU).

I was taken to this shop by my local host, insisting I needed a real Russian hat (it was winter!) As I chose my hat - or it was chosen - the shopkeeper took a keen interest in my Nikon camera (with which this photo was taken) & tried mightily to have me trade it for a more colorful Russian camera of my choice.

This was an interesting spot for too. See comment.

Here's the street where this camera/hat/everything store was located.

"Old Arbat"

Photo by Fenichel: Old Arbat (Moscow) A slice of the fabled shopping center in Moscow (Russian Federation) At the top is a conventional apartment complex looming above the 4-5 story buildings below. From ground level looking ahead, there are some people on th sidewalk (left and right), a large green kiosk with poster (c3nter), stret signs and a passing automobile. The tops of the buildings are asymmetrical, some curved, some in acute angles to each other. In the center, bottom, just left of the green kiosk, is an orange, spherical building facade which defies further description.
