The image is a black and white photograph depicting the historical remains of what appears to be part of an ancient wall or fortification. The structure consists of tall, weathered stone blocks that run alongside a body of water with calm waves visible in the background. This suggests it could have been situated on coastal terrain during its time of use.

In the distance, hills or low mountains can be seen under a pale sky, indicating an open landscape beyond the immediate vicinity of this ruinous site. The photograph has text at the bottom which reads "COO - LA COSTA ANATOLICA VEDUTA DALLA CINTA DEL CASTELLO DEI CAVALIERI," suggesting that this location is in Anatolia and viewed from within Castle Cavalieri's ramparts.

The quality of the image suggests it might be quite old, possibly a postcard or an early photographic print. The condition of the stones indicates significant erosion over time, likely due to weathering effects near the sea.
