The 400th species of invertebrate I've photographed this year: a lovely broad scarlet dragonfly (Crocothemis erythraea; 🇩🇪 Feuerlibelle).
Poor shot, but I was surprised it let me get close at all with my phone 🤷♂️

To be clear, I haven't been able to definitively ID a handful of those invertebrates, so have had to leave them at genus level.
But I'm fairly sure they're all distinct species in any case.
Of the 400, I've photographed 273 of them in my small sloping back garden, 110 nearby at different locations around Heidelberg & in SW Germany, & 17 in Mallorca.
And some of the species I've seen away from home, I've subsequently seen here too, so the total number seen in the garden is higher overall.
