‘Jackets’, similar construction technique to some fossil fuel extraction platforms in the North Sea. The jackets ‘indicate’ the depth of water at the wind farm site where they are settled onto pile foundations driven into the seafloor. Next generation will be floating offshore wind, anchored in deeper waters.
