Summer Days
Flashes of sunlight on waves,
as light and dark shift in an eternal
rearranging, and we wait,
an intense waiting,
in which a subterranean and fluid reformation takes place
until we long for lightning to strike,
for a sudden explosion
to erase all boundaries,
on the verge of infinity:
earth, sky, and a seagull’s cry
