Hilltop church in Vik, Iceland, photographed in winter. The small white church and its bright red roof and steeple stand out against a largely black-and-white scene of snow-covered ground, a dramatic mountainside and a grey sky. The selective colour effect draws attention to the church, emphasising its isolation and contrast within the stark Icelandic landscape.
