To be clear, what the #GenAI companies are doing is attempting to #colonize the tools we rely on, and the knowledge required to build them. This is a new method of the old Microsoft technique: Embrace, extend, extinguish.

And they are winning. Project by project their 'inevitable' rhetoric is degrading resistance to the takeover. When users leave a colonized project for another, they then target that project until users are tired of running.

This is a hostile takeover.
