Photo of a fab lab maker innovation prototyping space in Shenzhen, China. The name of the lab SHENZHEN OPEN INNOVATION LAB and SZOIL is printed on bright green banners which hang on walls and from ceilings. The space is high with a mezzanine level. On the ground floor there is a row of counters and shelves along the wall with all kinds of equipment and shelving, including 3D printers and vinyl cutters at various table heights. In the working space there are circular meeting tables and long rectangular working tables with chairs around them. A lot of maker stuff sits on shelves and tables and a foldout camp bed sits by the 3D printers. Futian District in Shenzhen, 15 August 2016. Photo Cindy Kohtala
