⚠️ NEW WORK & NEW LOCATION KLAXON ⚠️

The mountain I've always wanted to shoot: Suilven. After a failed early morning hike, we made up for it with some "roadography", capturing the incredible Suilven, the monsterous Quinag, the ruins of Ardvreck Castle, and everything in between.

Plenty more images from this day await your keen eyes, just go here -> https://www.iancylkowski.com/posts/quinag-suilven-loch-assynt-assynt-coigach-scotland-autumn/ 👍️

A portrait-format landscape photograph taken in autumn light shows the ruins of Ardvreck Castle on a small green promontory jutting into a dark loch, with the great bulk of Quinag rising above in the Scottish Highlands. A narrow, pale stone tower and low broken walls stand out brightly against the moody scene, lit by a shaft of sunlight that picks out the grass in vivid yellow-green and turns a stretch of water behind the castle a glowing copper-orange. Above, the huge mountain fills most of the frame, its steep, shadowed slopes in deep brown and charcoal with scattered grey outcrops of rock, and its flat-topped summit is partly wrapped in heavy slate-grey cloud. In the lower right, a bank of rusty-gold bracken and grass slopes down beside a dark crag, with a rock-netted fence and wooden posts, while a single-track road curves away from the foreground past a small triangular warning sign and a cluster of trees in russet and yellow autumn colours. The overall mood is dramatic and broodi A portrait-format landscape photograph shows the distinctive dome of Suilven rising above the village of Lochinver in the north-west Highlands of Scotland, seen across a calm stretch of grey-blue loch in the foreground. The mountain's smooth, rounded summit and steep flanks are banded with layers of dark grey sandstone, and a smaller craggy shoulder juts out to its left against a pale sky of soft white and blue-tinged cloud. Below the peak, rolling hills rough with grey rock outcrops and tawny moorland grass lead down to a thick, wooded slope in rich autumn shades of olive green, rust, ochre and deep brown, scattered with dark conifers and a few telegraph poles. Along the shoreline at the bottom of the hillside sits a row of low, white-painted cottages with slate-grey roofs and chimneys, separated from the water by a low stone sea wall and a broad band of rocky, seaweed-covered shore in muted gold and brown. The mood is quiet and still, with the muted light giving the scene a calm, und A portrait-format landscape photograph taken low to the ground shows the broad, flat-topped bulk of Sàil Gharbh, part of the Quinag massif in the north-west Highlands of Scotland, rising beyond an open expanse of moorland. In the foreground, large slabs of pale grey rock fill the lower half of the frame, their surfaces mottled with black, olive and ochre lichen and marked by cracks, small hollows and a few tiny pools of standing water. Tufts of rust-orange and golden grass and low heather grow in the fissures between the slabs and spread across the middle distance, where a few rounded boulders sit among the autumn vegetation and catch patches of warm sunlight. Beyond the moor, the mountain's smooth, shadowed slopes are dark green and blue-grey, with a steep drop falling away to the right and a lower rounded hill visible to the left, softened by a hazy glow. Above, a bright blue sky is streaked with wispy white cloud, and strong backlight from the left of the frame gives the whole scene A portrait-format landscape photograph looks across the still, glassy waters of Loch Glencoul towards the Stack of Glencoul, a rounded, craggy summit rising from a ridge of rugged mountains in the north-west Highlands of Scotland. The grey, rocky slopes are streaked with pale quartzite and patched with olive green and tawny grass, and a single shaft of golden sunlight falls across the middle of the hillside, picking out its warm colours against the cooler, shadowed ground on either side. Beneath a soft, overcast sky of pale grey cloud, the loch mirrors the mountains almost perfectly, with the golden glow and the dark, pointed shape of the peak repeated in the reflection. Several small, low islets and skerries covered in orange-brown seaweed, and topped with bright green moss, sit scattered across the water, while a broad band of rust and ochre weed stretches in from the right-hand shore. In the foreground, banks of russet bracken and a few autumn-yellow birch leaves frame the bottom of

A photograph of Suilven in Assynt, in the Highlands of Scotland, rising prominently above the surrounding open moorland. The distinctive mountain has a rugged sandstone profile with a series of steep, rounded peaks, highlighted by warm evening light that gives its rocky slopes a soft golden glow. Standing isolated from the surrounding hills, Suilven's unusual shape dominates the landscape and creates a strong focal point against the open terrain.

A photograph of Loch Duich in the Scottish Highlands, with autumn colours sweeping down the surrounding hillsides towards the water. A small white house stands alone above the loch, while in the distance the water winds between the mountains towards Invershiel at the far end, beneath a dramatic, cloud-filled sky that gives the scene a strong sense of space and solitude.
