We've been working diligently to get #FDroid Client ready for release.
If naming our releases 'alpha' or 'rc' impeded you to update, now you are free to install.
As usual we are exercising this as a stage roll-out, so you can now expand Versions and install 2.0.
If it's the first time, or even the n-th time, you've heard about our new client work, you can read all the gritty details in the 15 mins post: https://f-droid.org/2026/09/24/f-droid-2.0-a-new-chapter-for-android-freedom.html
To everyone involved in delivering 2.0, a sincere "Thank You!"
@fdroidorg@floss.social imagine my sursprise when the app I wanted to install (e1547) was banned by f-droid and is only available on the playstore and github (because it could potentially browse sites with adult content?!) meanwhile you have nitter apps that can browse X (twitter) which has an AI bot for undressing people
f-droid is not an alternative, it's even more restricted than the fucking play store and if anyone has a real alternative I'd love to hear about it
