This summer I made a mistake with regards to my camping, hiking and photography trip. I did not take any time before going to figure out what I actually needed.

This made actually relaxing while there impossible. Which led to me trying to force it. And that does not work.

I made the decission to drive home early. Foregoing almost all of the goals I had. And that is fine.

The most important bit is that I did go, and that I choose to return early.

A wide-angle, landscape-oriented photograph depicts a calm, dark lake in the foreground under an overcast, pale gray sky. The dark water reflects the forested mountains and dense green treeline that span the middle of the frame. A low layer of white mist and fog drifts through the tree canopy and along the base of the slopes. Two large, pine-covered mountain slopes rise on the left and right sides, framing a central valley where more distant ridges fade into heavy, low-hanging clouds. Small structures and parked vehicles are visible along the shoreline near the far left and right edges.

A week camping in the Vosges region of France. It is Wednesday now, and I plan to leave on Sunday. Leaving earlier is an option, later is not.

Tomorrow I am planning on hiking up to the grande tranchee. And after that, well, I don't know. Could do some nerd stuff, because yes, while camping I got Lightroom running on this CachyOS running laptop.
