I've been so busy lately that I've not had much time to take photos. But here are some insects. ##insects #butterflies #dragonflies #caterpillar #photography #nature #naturephotography #HoosierMast

This medium sized yellow butterfly with brown edges to its wings (as viewed from the topside of the wings) is a clouded sulphur butterfly. It's nectaring on some kind of catmint. You usually don't see the topside of this butterfly's wings, as they are usually closed at rest.

Here is a small dragonfly with bright green eyes, a powder blue abdomen and a black and yellow thorax in a obelisk posture (head down, butt up) on a hot day. It is a male blue dasher dragonfly.

This large dragonfly has a dark body and wings with brown and white patches on them. It is a male widow skimmer dragonfly.

I saw this rather large black. white and yellow caterpillar climbing all over some not-very-healthy-looking milkweed. It is a Monarch caterpillar, a late instar I would guess based on its size.
