Black-necked Stork, Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus. This amazing bird landed down on the banks of Jardine lagoon in Far north Queensland as I was sitting there watching a Whistling Kite nest. The amazing colours on its head and neck shimmered in the sunlight, as it stalked about in the shallow waters, looking for food. Felt so lucky to be able to experience such a sight. #photography #animals #nature #wildlife #australia #queensland #birds #birding #storks

In celebration of Singapore's National Day, 9 August 2026, here are some wildlife spotted on that day: a Smooth-coated Otter and Stork-billed Kingfisher at Pasir Ris Park, and an Asian Openbill and Lime Butterfly at Punggol Waterway Park.
