Watching the eclipse-watchers

This lady sat quietly watching proceedings during the solar eclipse last week, completely unaffected by all the excitement happening around her. When it was over, she folded up sunglasses, got up from her bench and went home. I thought she was great!

A middle aged lady in a white blouse wearing bulky sunglasses sits in profile looking up at the sky. In the foreground a long golden stalks of grass which catch the sunlight. In the background and somewhat out of focus is a group of people having a picnic.

A girl with bare legs and wearing white sandals walks through a patch of light in an otherwise dark room. Only her lower legs and sandals are visible. The image is in high contrast monochrome.

Partial solar eclipse, 12.08.26 - obviously it wasn't that dark, this is just my impressionistic take! Hopefully pointing my camera directly at the sun won't have done any damage... 😵
