August 28, 2026 - Lake Stanley Draper, Oklahoma

Taken after the lunar eclipse had passed its peak. This image was made using the Live Composite feature of the OM-5 Mark II. The camera captured data at the rate of one exposure every 30 seconds over 35 minutes. The final image is a composite of those 70 exposures. The foreground and the lake are illuminated by the moon.

2. hier 21h18, quelques minutes après son lever, la pleine #lune semble passer entre les tours de la cathédrale Saint-Corentin à #Quimper

Partial Lunar Eclipse

Last night, thanks to the clear skies here in Indiana, I was able to track the moon’s path for several hours. The photo was taken at 12:13 a.m., at the moment of maximum eclipse, and shows most of the moon bathed in a reddish light beneath a brilliant white cap.

As promised, here's my amazing (lol) picture of the partially eclipsed moon and lightning bolts, both almost totally blown out.

I got some nice bolts without the moon, but the alignment of the storm and moon didn't quite work out.

Just before totality, I drove around to the west (left in the photo) hoping I could line up the storm and the moon before the storm died. But, the clouds obscured the moon from that direction and by the time they cleared, the storm had fizzled. I got a clear view of the eclipse, though.

Had the storm arrived a little later, once the moon was higher and eclipsed, and been just a little further back to the east, it could've been a spectacular shot. It was fun trying anyway.

Who needs a clear image of the lunar eclipse when you can have a blurry one photobombed by trees?😂

Tonight’s partial eclipse was obscured by the forest near my vacation place in Idaho when it reached its maximum, at 96% coverage. Still, I was able to get a few photos of it with Earth’s shadow receding, as Luna eventually cleared the trees. I’ll share those soon, but for now here’s my first two shots near peak eclipse. And now to bed.
