Throwback to London last year. We walked a million miles and ate some great food.

A vertical twilight photograph - by European elopement and wedding photographer Sturmsucht - of The Shard, London's tapering glass skyscraper, filling the centre of the frame against a clear, saturated dark-blue evening sky. The tower narrows to a shard-like point made of angled glass facets, and the last of the daylight or the building's lighting makes the upper section glow warm gold. Below that, scattered office lights — warm yellow and a few red aircraft warning lights — dot the mirrored facade, and the glass faintly reflects nearby buildings.

At the bottom of the frame sits a cluster of lower-rise buildings, their windows lit in warm yellow grids: a curved dark-brown office block in the centre foreground, a paler stone building on the left whose lit signage reads "…HOSPITAL" (the end of a word beginning off-frame), and more glass-fronted blocks on the right, one topped with rooftop plant or a small structure.

On the left, two red construction cranes stand silhouetted against the

A wide night-time cityscape of London under a clear, very dark blue sky, taken by European elopement and wedding photographer Sturmsucht. The pale glow of a low cloud or haze sits just above the horizon on the right.

Right of centre, The Shard dominates: a glass pyramid tapering to a bright, pointillist-lit spire, its body speckled with warm yellow and orange office lights and a scatter of red warning lights. Around it cluster lower modern blocks — one with a prominent grid of lit windows, another showing the word "news" on a lit sign — while to its left the pale stone facade of London Bridge Hospital glows warm yellow, its name spelled out in lit letters along the roofline. Behind it, the red lattice of two construction cranes and a dark mid-rise building with a perforated facade stand against the sky, and further left a lower white building row extends off-frame.

Sweeping diagonally in from the upper right and filling the right third of the frame is a large concrete road bridge — i

A wide twilight view of the River Thames in London under a deep blue evening sky with a few faint clouds low on the left horizon. The water fills the lower half of what is a landscape, 3:2 frame. A photograph by European elopement and wedding photographer Sturmsucht.

In the centre-left, Tower Bridge spans the river: two ornate stone towers joined by a high walkway, with the suspension chains sweeping down to either shore. The stonework is floodlit warm cream, while the cables and the lower deck carry bright violet-blue light. Warm reflections streak down the rippling water beneath it. Further bridges' lights and a lit skyline of blocks and towers recede behind the bridge on the left, where the moored HQS Wellington-style pier and riverside buildings sit.

To the right of the bridge, the grey Royal Navy cruiser HMS Belfast is moored mid-river, its masts, turrets and superstructure picked out in white light, with red buoys along the hull. Behind it, modern glass office blocks glow in gr

This is a night time colour photo in portrait format of a tall, illuminated lighthouse located on a small hill, harbour water in the foreground and a dark caramel coloured sky in the background. Long Beach, California (2012).

The dark waters of the harbour rise from the base of the photo, upwards to a little less than the one quarter up level, where the boundary between the water an distant shore is ill defined. The camera is located on the near shore, a few metres above the water and angled at the distant shore and lighthouse. The jet black water is rippled with the six long reflections from the small street lights on the shore. One further and shorter reflection is blue from the illuminated lighthouse. Above the shore and just less than the halfway up level is a path that slopes upwards gently from the right to the left. Along this path are four of the cylindrical poles with a light on top. Behind the path is the small hill with the lighthouse on top, in the centre of the photo and
