A weathered 19th-century slate tombstone dedicated to John Morris features elegant carvings and an "IHS" christogram monogram. It stands under a dense tree canopy beside a rustic stone lychgate with a wrought-iron gate.

The tunnel of Hattusa, made of sharp, large boulders.

A view looking down into a narrow rugged stone shaft. Rough and fractured rocks with sharp edges and heavy textures cover the tight enclosure, with light behind hitting the upper ridges and casting deep shadows into the dark abyss below.

In the recent summer sunshine, Webster's Ropery, on the banks of the River Wear at Pallion, NE England.
It opened in 1793 and once went by the name 'Grimshaw Webster and Company' a patented rope works.
It was the first ropery on Wearside to be driven by steam and it was also the world’s first factory producing machine-made rope, thanks to Richard Fothergill, a Sunderland schoolmaster, who had patented a machine to spin hemp.
I heard it mentioned on a number of occasions that is was here where the ropes for Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory, were made.
Until relatively recently, the larger part of the building was occupied as office space, although is currently standing empty.
The other half of the building has seen a number of ventures come and go but following a major refurbishment is now a bespoke wedding and events venue, described as the perfect place to 'tie the knot!'

City wall of Hattusa, made of large boulders.

A steep ancient stone rampart constructed from rough-hewn gray boulders rises diagonally up a hillside. Patches of green shrubs and dry yellow grass sprout along the rocky surface and the adjacent slope. At the top of the incline, a row of lush green trees stands against a blue sky with scattered white clouds.

Doorway Into The Palace of Heavenly Happiness

(Details In The )

This is a simple colour photo of the two closed doors at the entrance to an old temple decorated with two large golden serpentine, dragon-like, mythical sea creatures facing each other. Thian Hock Keng Temple, Singapore (2012).

The entire photo is filled with the two, tall and rectangular, closed doors. The hinges are out of view along the left and right edges of the photo with the gap between the two doors being in the centre of the image. Each door has an identical mythical sea creature, possibly made from gold leaf, either way, of a metallic gold appearance. At the top of the doors the creature's tail curls around in a loop with the snake like body curving down the length of the door and getting a little thicker (fatter) towards the centre. Three-quarters of the way up there is a paw with five claws. At the bottom of the door the body curves around and upwards with the dragon like head stopping just below the centre of the photo. The jaws are wide open revealing long rows of sharp

The side façade of a historical stone building illuminated at night. Upward-facing lights along the base showcase the textured masonry and series of arched windows lined up across the upper floor. Near the top left window, a small white fixture of some sort is attached to the wall. The building contrasts sharply against the dark night sky.

Amoy Street

(Details In The )

This is a cityscape photo in portrait format of a long row of historic, colonial-era terraced buildings in the foreground and a modern high-rise office block in the background. Amoy Street, Singapore (2012).

In the foreground is that row of old but restored colonial-era terraced buildings that start along the left edge of the photo and extend away from the camera for ten to fifteen metres before curving around to the right and then out of view. The location is a quiet and pleasant area of the city with mostly restored historic low- rise buildings, some residential, but mostly businesses and cafes. The camera is positioned about a metre to the right of the buildings (standing in the road) and aligned viewing along it's length. The buildings are a mix of two and three floors with the ground floor deep in shadow and mostly out of view with what is the pavement covered by the overhang from the first floor of the building, as was so common in that era to protect pedestrians from the tropic
